ADAM McCONNELL - PRESIDENT
As long-standing and highly valued members of the Sandy Primary community, Adam and his wife Penny have proudly watched their three daughters enjoy all that Sandringham Primary School has to offer Bayside families. Adam highlights one of the school’s many strengths as the ability to offer children and their families a fantastic start to their primary education, supported by a significant, all-encompassing life experience program, as students progress through their primary school journey.
Adam commenced his tenure on School Council in 2015, holding the Vice-President role in 2017 to 2018, and becoming President in 2020.
Professionally, Adam has extensive experience across leadership roles within the advertising, media, marketing and communications sector, whilst also bringing a background in various aspects commercial and residential property.
Adam sees holding the role of School Council President as an honour and privilege, particularly in the unprecedented times of 2020 and 2021, in which Sandringham Primary School rebuilt after fire destroyed 65% of the school’s buildings in February 2020. Mindful of the importance of this project to the community, Adam endeavours to ensure that School Council provides both the support and resources needed to support the school in this crucial time, whilst also focusing on working with Principal, Mrs Louise Neave, to deliver the most comprehensive educational programs possible for students. By achieving these aims, Adam hopes to position SPS as a thriving school to be enjoyed by future generations.
KYLIE BROCKETT – VICE-PRESIDENT
Kylie joined the SPS community in 2018 and became a valued member of School Council in the same year. With a background in various aspects of commercial property and a wealth of experience, Kylie is passionate about ensuring that Sandringham Primary School continues to be a standout primary school in the Bayside suburbs, whilst driving improvement where opportunity arises.
Having served as Vice-President on School Council for the past 4 years, Kylie has contributed to the execution of the first three stages of Sandringham Primary School’s Master Plan, including a new junior school play space, new asphalt games area and the resurfacing of the basketball/netball courts. With children currently in junior year levels, Kylie and her husband Chris know first-hand how much these initiatives have been enjoyed by the students and are proud to be a part of the school community.
As with all School Council members, Kylie's 2020 and 2021 focus was on the rebuild of Sandringham Primary School’s buildings at Bamfield Street, following the fire in February 2020. She feels privileged to contribute to School Council at this vital time in the school’s history.
