The visual arts program at Sandringham Primary aims to open the eyes of its students to the wonders of art and to engage them in a broad range of arts experiences.
Students are provided with a variety of different materials to create and make two and three dimensional works within a well resourced art space. There is an emphasis within the program to develop conceptual understandings, to foster creative thinking and problem solving skills.
The curriculum is regularly enriched by visiting artists who share their art with the students during hands on workshops.
There are opportunities for extension and special interest groups to participate in a lunchtime art club to create large scale projects for the school and community.
Our students can also take creative journeys beyond the walls of the art room through the use of technology.
