Appointment of Architect for Sandy Primary Rebuild

We are pleased to announce the chosen architect for our Sandy Primary Rebuild.  The preferred architect firm appointed was Peter Elliott Architects and they were delighted to accept the offer. The tender process was very competitive and the selection panel included myself, our Assistant Principal Pam Bernau, School Council representatives, the VSBA and DET.

Peter Elliott Pty Ltd is a medium sized architectural practice that specialises in educational projects and is able to deliver clear design solutions with a well-defined purpose. They are an established architectural and urban design practice and have been operating since 1975 with a staff of 12 people with diverse backgrounds and experience. The practice has a special interest in architecture encompassing great urban design in the public realm. This includes a broad range of projects for schools and universities, public authorities and government agencies.

Being a medium sized practice it is possible to maintain a close working relationship with the client at every stage of the process. This helps them to maintain a high standard of design and delivery of quality contemporary architecture – which is acknowledged by numerous architectural awards they have won.

The architects have committed to listening to and analysing the requirements of the school and its community. It will work closely with the VSBA, School Council and whole school community to deliver an architectural and landscape solution with insight, creative thinking and emotional intelligence.

The architects have vast experience in working on education projects including universities, Geelong Grammar School and Melbourne Grammar School – including their Upper Primary Precinct.

We are expecting a masterplan of key locations and priority projects to be developed by mid-year with a schematic design complete by the end of winter. The entire design development should be done by early Term 4 to allow a builder to be appointed by the end of this year.

We are really pleased to be working with this highly experienced team and believe they will deliver an excellent outcome for our school. I encourage you to visit their website and take a look at some of their outstanding work at  https://peterelliott.com.au/projects/educational
