When 20 students walked through the doors of Gipsy Village Church of England School on 6 August 1855, they could never have imagined that, in 2025, hundreds of students, families, alumni and members of the local community would gather together to celebrate 170 years of the school we now know as Sandringham Primary School.
We were pleased to welcome so many visitors to Sandy Primary for this special occasion and thank the local community for your support.
For students, the recognition of this milestone was enjoyed throughout the week, with a dress-up day featuring fashions through 170 years, a visit to the Timeline and historical display set up in the School Library, participation in a 170th Birthday Discovery Trail visiting significant locations around the school grounds with story-telling by key community members, a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, a program of historical sporting games organised by our Year 6 leaders and the preparation of contributions for a new Time Capsule.
